KG Graduation Day

CLASS V FAREWELL:
   
 
On March 17, 2023, the students of Class IV bid farewell to the pupils of Class V. The Headmistress first conveyed her best wishes through her encouraging words of wisdom. The students of Class IV had planned a brief cultural event for their seniors. It began with a solemn prayer song followed by a classical dance performance by the boys.
 
 

 

Spring is Here … It’s time to Cheer:
   
 
The young Kindergarteners ushered in the ‘king’ of all seasons Spring to set the mood in perfect harmony with Mother Nature by enthusiastically participating in a special assembly named the ‘Colours of Spring’.
 

 

SCIENCE EXHIBITION-' SCI -VENTURE':
National Science Day is celebrated in India on February 28th every year to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by the famous Indian physicist, Sir C.V. Raman.
To mark this occasion, Students of Classes Nursery to II enthusiastically organised a science exhibition that consisted of hands-on exhibits, models, charts, and demonstrations. The students displayed various artwork on topics related to Space Science, Environmental Science and health and wellness. They conducted interesting experiments on air, water, the formation of clouds etc. Some of the experiments showcased food colour magic, the movement of coloured water through the tissue paper to form a heart, and a hovercraft using a CD and a balloon. The students enjoyed demonstrating their experiments with great confidence and zest.
   
 
 
   
 
   
 

International Mother Language Day:

 

Our little wonders of Kindergarten, Class I and II put up a special assembly to celebrate this day and to raise awareness of the importance of preserving and promoting mother languages and cultural diversity.
 
 
 

The Annual Road Safety Week campaign:

    

 

The Kolkata Traffic Police organized an event on the Park Circus 7- Point Crossing on Monday, 6th of February 2023 to flag off their annual Road Safety Week campaign.

They encouraged pupils to spread awareness amongst their friends and family members about the importance of following safety rules on the road.

REPUBLIC DAY SPECIAL ASSEMBLY:
The 74th Republic Day of India was celebrated by the students of Classes IV D on Wednesday 25th January 2023. The Assembly commenced with the beautiful rendition of 'Vande Mataram ' and students then explained the importance of our Constitution and why we celebrate this day. 
 
 
 
 
 

 

PARAKRAM DIWAS- 23RD JANUARY, 2022:
Students of Class IV B paid their tribute to one of the nation's most venerated heroes – Netaji Subhas Chandra'Bose, by putting up a special assembly on the 20th of January. The program began with a student, dressed as Netaji, marching into the hall to the tunes of the famous song “Kadam Kadam badaye jaa”. This was followed by a depiction of the defining moments of Netaji’s life.
 

 

NATIONAL YOUTH DAY- 12TH JANUARY, 2022:
National Youth Day Special Assembly ' Arise, Awake and stop not till the goal is reached.'The students of Class 1 C presented a special assembly to celebrate Swami Vivekananda's birthday with a skit based on a life incident of Swamiji
where they learnt that if they face their problems bravely, they can surely overcome them.
 

 

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION:
The much-awaited festival of Christmas was celebrated with fervour and zeal by the little wonders of Nursery & Kindergarten on 23rd December 2022 on the school ground. The school echoed with Christmas carols and holy hymns sung melodiously by the school choir & the students of Swar Sangam club, ushering in the festive season. The students of Nursery & Kindergarten presented a thought-provoking skit which emphasized that Christmas was more than just Santa, cards, toys or gifts under the Christmas tree. The skit brought forth the true meaning of the Yuletide spirit which lay in the joy of giving and helping those less fortunate ones. The children were filled with joy and excitement as Santa came dancing to the tune of Jingle Bells.
 

 

The little eco-warriors of Class 1B put up a special assembly on the 14th of December to celebrate World Energy Conservation Day. One of the students dressed up as Earth, who was unwell, and showed everyone how we are draining our Earth of its energy. Few others came as 'Energy Ninjas,' showing how we can make the Earth healthy again.
 
 
 
 
 
 

AVINANDAN - GRANDPARENTS' DAY- 30TH NOVEMBER, 2022

Grandparents of  Classes KG, II and IV were invited for a day of fun. They enjoyed an array of exciting games, clicked photographs on a “selfie corner”, sang melodiously and danced to the tune of old melodies. Sixty grandparents teamed up with their grandchildren to create cherished memories by participating in three competitions organised for the day.
   
 
 
 
   
 
 

CHILDREN'S DAY-

 
 
The school social service committee - Prayaas invited students from the NGO Hum to celebrate this special
day with us. Each child was given a goodie bag at the end of the day containing food and a variety of stationery items. 
 
 
 
 

FINLIT PARENT'S ORIENTATION - 16TH NOVEMBER, 2022:

The school management has tied up with Investors Financial Education Academy (IFE Academy) for an exclusive Financial and Money learning programme for the pupils of Class IV. Their in-house academic experts have crafted and prepared extensive material, study courses, and reading books for children. By collaborating with industry experts, the pedagogy aims to engage children for financial awareness in a simple manner. A day each month has been marked for the programme, which will be conducted in school within school hours. Teaching Financial Literacy to students of Birla High School is the FIRST OF ITS KIND in any school.
 
 

After hosting a Parents'Orientation Programme on FINLIT, the first session was conducted for the students of Class IV. The children were very engrossed and had plenty of questions and queries. This is proof enough that they are never too young to learn anything new, anything which seems complicated, if taught in a method they can understand. The cornerstone of our relationship with money is laid out by financial literacy, which is a lifetime learning process. We wish our young students to become proficient in using different financial skills.

 

 


GURUPURAB SPECIAL ASSEMBLY:

Students of Class 3 section D presented a beautiful assembly on 7th November 2022 on the auspicious occasion of Gurpurab or Guru Nanak Jayanti. The students performed a skit based on an incident in the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji- ‘A Sacha Sauda’ or ‘A True Bargain’ to show the joy we experience when we help the less fortunate.

To commemorate Guru Nanak Dev Ji's birthday, the young learners of Nursery stood together to pay respect to the great Sikh Guru. ' A peaceful rendition of ‘Ek Omkar’ was introduced to the children to make the learning more impactful. They were taught the etiquette of covering their heads and joining their hands while listening to it

 

 

 


GANDHI JAYANTI SPECIAL ASSEMBLY:-

A special assembly on Gandhi Jayanti was conducted by the boys of class V A on the 29th of September, 2022.

   
 

DURGA PUJA SPECIAL ASSEMBLY:

The students of Class II B conducted a Special Assembly on Durga Puja on 28th September 2022. The students dramatised a skit to narrate the story of Goddess Durga.
 
 
 

GREEN DIWALI SPECIAL ASSEMBLY:

'Diwali' the festival of lights, symbolizes the spiritual " victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance".
On 27th September 2022, the boys of Class IIC put together a special assembly, themed " Green Diwali".The students talked about the significance of the festival through a recitation. Besides sensitizing students about the ill - effects of burning crackers, they also shared the guidelines for an environment-friendly Diwali celebration with the help of a puppet show. They instilled the essence of the festivity by singing a melodious song and performing a dance.

 

 


HINDI DIWAS-14TH SEPTEMBER 2022:

Birla High School observed Hindi Diwas on in a grand way to inculcate love among the children for our National language. On this occasion, the Chief Guests for the day as represented by the children were the
four famous Hindi authors shri Dwarika Prasaad Maheshwariji , Munshi Premchandji, Jaishankar Prasadji and Ramdhari Singh Dinakarji. The significance of Hindi Diwas was conveyed to the children in the form of Hindi
poetry, dance and music.
 

NATIONAL SPORTS DAY- 29TH AUGUST, 2022:

National Sports Day was celebrated on 29th August 2022 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand Singh, the hockey wizard of India. The main objective behind this was not just to spread awareness about hockey as a sport, but also to foster the importance of sports and games as an integral means of maintaining a healthy body. Since it is famously said - A healthy body leads to a healthy mind’, the occasion was leveraged to the fullest to make the most of it.

 

 

 


JANMASHTAMI- 18TH AUGUST, 2022:

To mark the birth of Lord Krishna, a Special Assembly on was prepared by the students of KG.

INDEPENDENCE DAY- 15TH AUGUST, 2022:

Independence Day was celebrated on 12th August 2022. ‘Where the Mind is Without Fear’…… The students of Class VD presented a Special Assembly on Independence Day physically in the prayer hall after nearly two and half year. Through a musical presentation they remembered the heroic sacrifices made by our freedom fighters

 


RAKSHABANDHAN- 10TH AUGUST, 2022:

The young learners of Nursery conducted a  Special Assembly emphasising the bond between the brothers and sisters and also celebrating universal bonhomie. The little wonders even tied rakhi around the trees and on the wrists of the helpers at home as they took a pledge to protect and take care of everyone.

 
 

 

INTERNATIONAL TIGER DAY- 29TH JULY, 2022:
Global Tiger Day, often called International Tiger Day, is an annual celebration to raise awareness for tiger conservation, held annually on 29 July.
Students from Class Nursery to Class V engaged in some meaningful activities to raise awareness about this day.
 
   
 
 
 
 
 

NATIONAL MANGO DAY-2ND JULY 2022:

On this day children of class Nursery dressed up as various fruit and enacted a small script to show why mango is called the “King of Fruits”.

There is ‘Only One Earth’ is the theme of World Environment Day 2022. Our students are trying to do their bit, in their own little way, but collective effort is needed to save our only home. 

 

 

 


WORLD MUSIC DAY-21ST JUNE, 2022:

Music is the universal language of love. It connects, binds, and inspires. The Music and Dance departments along with Class IV students presented a musical assembly to commemorate this special day.


INVESTITURE CEREMONY-18TH JUNE, 2022:

"Leaders are not born; they are shaped by their life experiences."
The Investiture Ceremony of Birla High School, for the academic year 2022-23 was held on the 18th of June 2022.
This ceremony symbolizes the school's trust and faith in the newly installed office bearers. They take on the mantle of accountability and promise to carry out their responsibilities to the best of their abilities.
 
 
 
 
 

 

MOTHERS' DAY-8TH MAY, 2022
The tiny tots of Nursery at Birla High School celebrated this day with much zest. They came up with innovative ideas to make a special card using the paper folding technique to make loops. The Kindergarteners were thrilled to make a badge for their mother/ grandmother/ aunt/ sister with a circle and palm cut-outs. They painted it with vegetable printing and did not forget to enclose a special message with it. The children wrote the special
message of “ I Love You” with playdough and pasted it on the badge. They were delighted to present it to their beloved mother figures whom they love and look up to as a token of their love and appreciation.
The students of Class I used macaroni pasta to make a bracelet or necklace while learning about the largest one-digit number. While threading the macaroni, students made some promises. For example, I promise to love you forever. I promise to take care of you, I promise to listen to you.
The students of Class II made a picture frame to express their love and respect for their beloved mother. This special activity helped to strengthen the bond between mother and child and made the morning a memorable experience for all present.
Students of Class III made pretty pencil puppets for their Mothers.
Students of classes IV & V wrote small essays about their mother or anyone who is like a mother to them.
 

   


RABINDRA jAYANTI-6TH MAY, 2022:

Class IIIA  paid tribute to the great poet by  reciting his poems, singing Rabindra Sangeet & dancing to some  melodious tunes of Tagore.

 

 

 

 

 

EARTH DAY-22ND APRIL, 2022

On 22nd April, students of Classes  Nursery to V celebrated Earth Day in  their own special way by making paper  bags with newspapers. They promised to  reduce waste by reusing & recycling.:
