On Wednesday, 11th September 2024, an Inter-House Puzzle Competition titled ‘Global Goal Getters’ was conducted by Ashok House for students from classes I to V. The competition was held from 12:05pm to 1:05pm pm. A total of 30 students participated in the event, with one student representing each class from each house. The venue for the event included four Upper Nursery classrooms and two Lower Nursery classrooms. The theme for the competition entered around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on those relevant to the understanding of primary school students. The event featured a variety of activities, including riddles, coding tasks, brain teasers, and Sudoku, each tailored to different subjects and class levels. Class I participants focused on English, Class II on General Knowledge, Class III on Science, Class IV on Storytelling, and Class V on Mathematics, specifically solving Sudoku puzzles, with six puzzles allocated, one per house. As the students solved their respecting tasks, they derived at a specific number which served as pieces of the overall puzzle. Upon completing the various activities, the teams assembled their jigsaw puzzles to reveal a picture related to Sustainable Developmental Goals (SDG’S), which they then used to craft a final slogan to conclude the challenge.
