Description :
Field Trip Report: Class 2 Students' Visit to the Indian Museum To enhance learning experiences and connect textbook concepts to real-life exhibits, Class 2 students embarked on an exciting field trip to the Indian Museum on 20th November 2024.They visited the : Zoological gallery, Egypt gallery, Bengal Painting gallery and the Textile Gallery. In the Textile Gallery, students marveled at the diverse traditional Indian clothing displays. They observed various fabrics, patterns, and designs, related to their EVS chapter on clothing. It enhanced their understanding of different fabrics (cotton, silk, wool). They appreciated the regional variation in clothing and recognized the significance of traditional clothing in Indian culture. The galleries, fascinated students as they were able to correlate the facts they learnt about various frog species and other amphibians. This experience reinforced their Literature chapter on frogs. In the Zoological Gallery, students discovered an impressive collection of taxidermied animals, including mammals, birds, and reptiles. They learnt about the extinct animals. This sparked curiosity and enthusiasm for wildlife conservation among them. Children viewed and enjoyed a show titled “ Walking through a Songline”, an immersive digital experience produced by the National Museum of Australia. Students demonstrated active engagement and curiosity throughout the trip. The trip fostered teamwork, observation, and critical thinking skills. The field trip proved to be an enriching experience for Class 2 students. By connecting textbook concepts to real-life exhibits, students deepened their understanding and developed essential skills. We express heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed Headmistress Ma'am for providing us with this invaluable opportunity. We also thank the Indian Museum authorities and staff for their cooperation and guidance. Special thanks to our accompanying teachers and parents for ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience.
